Photographing the moon at its closest point to earth

Here's a good description from the photographer Tom Grill of the problems involved in making a picture of the moon. As I mentioned in last night's lecture the best picture I have seen of the moon so far was from Mark Stewart, royal photographer who I'm sure owns a big long lens.
